Who we are
Community first responders — trained volunteers

Founded in May 2005, Stowmarket Community First Responders have been at the heart of our local communities, providing vital life-saving care when it's needed most. We proudly serve Stowmarket, Onehouse, Great Finborough, Stowupland, Haughley, and Old Newton, working together to create a safer and healthier environment for everyone.

As highly trained volunteers, we respond to emergency calls on behalf of the East of England Ambulance Service. From assisting during cardiac arrests to providing reassurance during medical crises, our team is often the first to arrive, ensuring essential care is delivered while professional ambulance crews are en route. Every second matters in an emergency, and our commitment to bridging this critical gap can make all the difference.

Our history
Serving our community since May 2005

Stowmarket CFR was founded in May 2005 and has been an active part of the emergency response network in Mid Suffolk ever since. Over twenty years we have grown steadily, responding to thousands of emergency calls alongside EEAST and building strong ties with the communities we serve.

While our passion for community service has grown over the years, our ability to operate relies heavily on donations from generous individuals and organisations. Due to limited NHS funding, your contributions are essential in helping us maintain equipment, training, and readiness. Whether through fundraising, sponsorship, or direct donations, your support ensures we can continue to make a difference.

Beyond emergency response, we engage in local events, raise awareness about health and safety, and support training initiatives to empower people with life-saving skills. At the heart of our mission lies the belief that together, we can save lives and strengthen our bonds as a community.
